Laminate Flooring

Traditionally, laminate flooring was created to replicate wooden flooring.  But over time laminate flooring has come into its own.  Today laminate flooring is not only used to mimic wooden flooring but to create something new and different. There are now hundreds of products available to choose from, enabling customers to find something to suit their style whether that be the traditional timber look or something a little bit different.

Laminate flooring comes in planks just like wooden flooring. However, laminate is made up of numerous synthetic layers and is topped with a photographic image of the design. This is then protected with a hard-wearing surface layer. The layer is generally highly resistant to scratches and will also typically be water resistant and can therefore withstand occasional spills and splashes. Many suppliers are now selling waterproof laminates that are suitable for wet areas such as the laundry or bathroom.
