Choosing the right product to suit your lifestyle is important.
We are happy to guide you through these decisions to ensure that your individual preferences and needs are met.
Engineered Timber Flooring is composed of many layers of wood. Unlike traditional hardwood flooring the layering effect provides resistance to changes in temperature and humidity. This is particularly useful with Auckland’s humid climate. These layers of carefully crafted timber are then protected by a lacquer finish which provides excellent protection against UV rays which are particularly harmful in New Zealand.

AFFORDABILITY – compared to traditional timber flooring engineered timber is faster to install and is therefore more cost effective. It is a pre-finished product. This means that once it has been installed it does not need the sanding, staining, polishing that traditional timber needs.
DURABILITY – the layering effect provides resistance to temperature and humidity which is the major downfall of traditional timber flooring.
PROTECTION – the lacquer provides protection against the ultra-harmful UV rays.
LESS WASTE – the engineered nature of this timber flooring means that there is a lot less wastage compared to traditional timber. Because there are various layers to the floorboard much more of the tree can be utilised. It is much more eco-friendly.
Floating timber flooring employs the same installation dynamics as laminate flooring, they are both placed over top of underlay and are slotted in nicely underneath the skirtings or are laid prior to the skirtings being installed. No glue is used to secure the boards, and this has multiple benefits, such as:
ALLOWS FOR EXPANSION AND CONTRACTION – with climate changes the boards will have the ability to adjust.
EASE OF REPAIR – if the boards become damaged for any reason, removing and uplifting the product is fast and the entire floor does not need to be removed.
SOFT FEEL – floating flooring has a softer, lighter feel when walking on.
Glue down timber flooring employs the same installation ideas as traditional timber flooring. As opposed to having the flooring ‘floating’ the floor is glued down. The reason this is chosen and offered is because it comes with some differences and benefits which suit different people and lifestyles, such as:
FIRM, STRONG FEEL – the floor feels solid underneath your feet.
NO MOVEMENT – there is less noise when walking on.
